Getting started
Remap the Insert Key
Open the product menu on a keyboard without a dedicated Insert key.
01Check your keyboard first
- Look for an Insert label shared with another key. Your keyboard may use Fn with that key.
- If no combination is available, use Microsoft PowerToys Keyboard Manager.
02Open Keyboard Manager
- Install PowerToys from Microsoft Store or Microsoft’s official project.
- Open PowerToys → Keyboard Manager and enable the utility. Choose Remap a key.
03Add your mapping
- Choose a spare key as the source and Insert as its destination. Save the change.
- Keep PowerToys open. When the product is ready, press your chosen key to toggle its menu.
04Restore the original key
- Delete the mapping in Keyboard Manager whenever you no longer need it. Closing PowerToys also stops its mappings.
